Affiliate Program Success
Making an income from affiliate programs seems
like a great way to make a living. What could be nicer than putting
together a web site, about whatever you're most interested in, placing
a couple of affiliate banners on every page, and then sitting back
and waiting for the affiliate sales to start pouring in.
Well unless you had massive amounts of targeted
traffic to your site, and the affiliate programs you were linking
to exactly fitted the needs of your visitors, you'd be sitting and
waiting an awful long time.
Making lots of money from affiliate programs is
possible, but let's get one thing clear right
now: it's not easy, and like any other way of earning a living it
takes hard work.
However, it can, and is
being, done.
James Martell, who wrote the Affiliate
Marketers Handbook 2002, is making a massive $40,000 a month
from a variety of affiliate programs.
Michael Campbell, author of Clickin'
It Rich pulls in $200,000 a year from affiliate programs.
Rosalind Gardner makes a staggering $30,000 to
$50,000 per month from Internet dating affiliate programs (she reveals
how she does it in a detailed interview on Corey Rudl's Secrets
To Their Success member site).
The interesting thing - apart from the large sums
of money they make - is that they all take different approaches.
(though James and Michael both use linked mini
sites to drive affiliate sales).
