Customer service - the importance of exceeding customer expectations.

I'm scribbling this weeks issue in my reporters notebook, while drinking a slow pint of Guiness in an Irish bar in the Australian tropics.

Well, a second slow pint of Guiness.

This second pint was unasked for, and brought over by the barmaid a couple of minutes ago.

"here's a free pint for you darling, because you're writing, and the Irish love their writers..."


Wow! Now that's great customer service isn't it. In fact, it's really fantastic customer service.


And that's what we should be giving the people who visit our websites, people who sign up for our ezines, people who walk into ur stores, and everyone else we do business with.


What's that old saying?


"always exceed the customer's expectations."


Well mine have certainly been exceeded here , I'll be telling my friends about this bar and recommending it to people.


Wouldn't you like people to feel just this way about your web site? Well give them a reason to. Offer great customer service by giving something away to your ezine readers, by giving an unexpected bonus to people who buy your product. Exceed people's expectations and word will spread so fast that you'll find it hard to keep up with all the new business.
