To
Do Lists- Making an online to-do list
by Phil Wiley
It's
no good at all having a well designed web site, offering a great
service or product, if people don't know your site exists.
So
to promote your site, and be successful with your web business you
have to spend most of your time on marketing.
But,
on the Internet, it's far too easy to drift or lose focus. Unless
you follow a regular routine, your efforts will yield inconsistent
results at best. And, to stay on track, it's important that you
get down to specifics.
The
only way I know of doing this - of keeping your marketing attack
on track as the weeks go by - is to make an Online To Do List.
This
week we'll look at things you need to do on a daily basis to keep
your online business flowing. Here are some activities you should
consider putting onto your Daily list:
Daily
Tasks
1.
Answer your email promptly - and helpfully. Remember that not everyone
knows as much as you about online business. You might have been
asked the same question 10 times but people wouldn't ask if they
knew the answer. Be helpful and friendly. It's no good getting a
flood of traffic if your poor response or attitude turns people
away. It will help you earn people's trust and their business.
2. Do at least one promotional task. If you have an ezine submit
it to at least one new directory or ezine list. You'll find places
to submit your ezine/ web site at
http://www.ubrande.com/goldmine.php3?1133

http://Ezine-Tips.com/
http://List-Universe.com/
3.
Register your site or a new page at a search engine. You can post
to a limited number of search engines and directories for free at
http://www.submit-it.com
http://www.selfpromotion.com
http://www.jimtools.com
If
you're into Internet marketing for the long run you really need
to be using some auto submission software.
The
ones I find best are Swiss
Army App and Submit
Wolf Pro 4
4.
Visit your web site to make sure it's working properly. I use a
free monitoring service which notifies me if my site is down. Not
that it happens very often because my web host, the ultra reliable
http://www.allwebco.com
usually has 100 percent up time. If you try them tell Glen I sent
you. ( have a look at my testimonial and uptime stats on their testimonial
page ). You'll find the free monitoring service at http://www.webpartner.com
5.
Send a message to your own auto-responders to make sure they're
working.
6.
Monitor the discussion lists, forums, and newsgroups you participate
in and post messages in them. You can find the best daily posts
from the best marketing forums all in one place at Trick
Report
7.
Check the positions on any classified ads you've posted - and repost
them if they're too far down the list.
You
can post ads at
Ad
Track Classifieds

http://classifieds.yahoo.com

http://www.netclassifieds.com/
8.
Follow up leads to new information resources, and visit rivals web
sites. Although it's important to check out your competition and
pick up new ideas, it's far too easy to spend half a day web surfing
without actually achieving much.
To
avoid drifting like this you need to set yourself a time limit for
this kind of activity - and stick to it.
9.
Post Your site to some FFA pages. You can use this free submission
site to post to around 150 sites http://www.virtualpromote.com/ffapenance/
or download the just upgraded free version of Swiss
Army App which lets you post to over 1000 FFA sites as often
as you like. I was going to put posting to FFA pages in the list
of things to do weekly, but if you use Swiss
Army App you may as well post daily because you can leave it
running in the background while you work on other things.
