Letter from Phil,

A few days ago I was doing some free publicity work for the
Australian Cancer Fund. That evening I pulled out some
photographs I took, years ago, for the annual report of The
Royal Children's Hospital. Lots of them were taken in the
cancer wards, and many of the smiling children in the
pictures had died before the annual report was published.

When we spend half our time online, thinking about web
marketing and promoting our sites, we never think about
more important things like finding a cure for cancer, or
at least increasing the survival rate.

I don't want to dwell on this here....it's not why you read
this newsletter. But I'd like you to help me donate to the
Cancer Fund to aid research.

I'm not asking you to send me any money.

Sticking with what I know best, I'll donate my affiliate income
from different programs each week for the rest of November.

This week: any of Ken Evoy's books, and Mark Joyner's
Promote-Ivator.

When you sign up for Promote-Ivator, which is just $6,
I'll donate my $3 affiliate commission.

Promote-Ivator is a small window that sits on your Windows
desktop, and helps stimulate you into action by helping
you achieve your goals. It comes with a daily tip called
"a boot to the head", a built in referral system, an
"achieve your goal" to-do list, and best of all a very active
discussion group of motivated Promote-Ivator users.

To purchase one of Ken's famous books, which
cost as little as $17 ( and I'll hand over my affiliate
commission of around 20-30% ) please visit

http://salesnow.sitesell.com

The books are:

"Make Your Site Sell"

...which has quickly become known as "the bible"of
web marketing.

"Make Your Knowledge Sell"

...written by Monique Harris and Ken, this excellent
book teaches you how to use your own unique knowledge
to create your own product.

and

"Make Your Words Sell"

...the book of the decade on writing for the web.

The affiliate sales donation will, of course, be
verified/recorded by a person from my local Cancer
Fund branch in Rockhampton, Australia.

Please write to me at mailto:phil@ozemedia.com
if you make a purchase.

If you'd rather donate personally to another charity
visit one of these sites:

http://www.forgoodnessake.com
http://www.charityfrogs.org
http://www.charitymall.com

Here's hoping you and your family are never touched
with cancer....

phil

ok...onto brighter things...

Free autoresponders for you...

________________________________________________

A new site - http://www.sendthisfree.com - will give you as
many free Automated Multi-Response Autoresponders
as you need to aid your internet business venture.

Unlike most freebies they're 100% Ad free.

They have NO advertising of any kind on them and will send up
to 9 automated responses.

So what's the catch? Only a very small one. They'll send you
a weekly email containing ads. ( not to the people on your
mailing list - just to you ).

Seems a good deal to me.

Clickbank changes, and the continuing adventures of Kate...

_________________________________________________

Last week I wrote about my 17 year old daughter Kate's new
web site at http://www.katewiley.com

284 readers of this newsletter visited her site. That's a great
response.

I know the exact figure because I used a Roibot ad tracking link ...
for more on Roibot see

Anyway I'd like to personally thank you for all the encouraging
emails you sent to her. I know she's replied to most of them
( all of them by now, I hope )

Alas...week 1 of her new site must go down in history as a big
failure because she failed to make even one sale.

Kate's heavily into promoting Larry Dotson's Private Site. One
reason is because it's at a price that even her friends can afford.
But, too late, she found the Clickbank link to Larry's affiliate
program
wasn't working.

It shows that you must ALWAYS test every link on a regular basis.

She didn't test the Clickbank link on her new site because it's
always worked in the past. However, it seems that Clickbank
engineers made some changes last week, and if you don't list
a homepage in your personal ( affiliate ) details, your links will
no longer work.

So if you're a reseller of any affiliate program operating through
Clickbank please check that your links are working.

If you're one of the people interested in seeing Larry's site
here is Kate's link:

Collection of articles on press release writing
and dealing with the media...plus GoTo Advice....

________________________________________________

Positive free publicity in the media can bring you more business
than anything else. I've just put up a collection of articles on
press release writing at

http://www.ozemedia.com/publicity/index.htm

You probably know that I'm slowly revamping my web site
(very slowly) so lots of the links to other parts of my site
aren't yet live.

But drop in and tell me what you think about the new look
( compare it to the old publicity page at
http://www.ozemedia.com/media.htm )

write to me at mailto:phil@ozemedia.com

To give this new section a traffic kick boost, while I'm
waiting for the search engines to list it, I've quickly
added it into the pay-per-click search engine GoTo.

I've bought keywords for all the top press release searches
after using their incredible keyword research tool at

http://inventory.go2.com/inventory/searchInventory.mp

To boost your search engine success you really should
be using this tool for finding the most popular search
terms for your web site topic.

To give you an example, I used to concentrate my
meta tags, for press release and free publicity articles,
around the term Free Publicity, because that's what I
thought people searched for.

But I was way out.

On GoTo last month ( which means it probably holds true
for all search engines ) free publicity was only searched
for 36 times. Press releases got 2448 searches.

Make sure YOU'RE not missing out on visitors by
targeting the wrong keywords. Look them up, and if
necessary change your pages to drive traffic from a
more popular search term.
