Letter from Phil... it's a great Saturday morning here in sunny Queensland, Australia. Here's a picture of the light on the Pacific... I shot it at 5am this morning through the bedroom window. I was up so early to get stuck into my email which always floods in through the night (started with Allan Gardyne's excellent Associate Programs newsletter which I look forward to every couple of weeks. Allan wrote about Shane Pearce's new affiliate program book which I'm still reading. Shane's an 18 year old Aussie making a full time living promoting affiliate programs with mini sites, after starting out with my book Mini Site Profits. You can read about Shane's book here. He covers a ton of practical techniques, with twists that really work. It's really going to help you. By 5.30am I'd deleted all the spam and helped almost everyone who wanted advice. Tip: if you want to get things done quickly, get up very early and put in a couple of hours solid work. Tip 2: don't live somewhere with great views or you'll keep getting distracted. When I went for more coffee, after the sun had come up, I had to pull out the camera again and grab this shot from the deck as the clouds rolled in over the mountains. The light and clouds up here are ever changing. Anyway on to the real topic of today's issue. Well the first of them anyway. It's a new way of creating mini sites without HTML skills. I know that many of you who've bought my book still struggle to learn a program like Dreamweaver, and then struggle yet again to work out how to use FTP programs to get your site up on the web. Well, at last, there's an excellent new tool for automatically building fast, professional mini sites. Especially the popular kind that are designed to sell ebooks or other downloadable material. If you can use Microsoft Word, or any other word processor/text editor, you can use this tool to quickly put together a ready-to-go mini site complete with sales links and download pages. It will take you just minutes. Look at this example The software I'm talking about is brand new, released just 2 days ago, It's called Instant Ebook Websites and it's web based, with nothing to download which makes it even easier to use. You can build and host 10 mini sites for the one fee,and although the provided hosting seems fine, I'd really recommend that you get a new domain name for each site you build and host the sites with a low-cost web host. You really don't need any technical knowledge to build sites using this tool. and best of all they're totally ready to go with all the sales links in place and working through Clickbank or Paypal. For 2 days now I've been stuck on Ebay, looking at the websites for sale auctions. I've been hooked, and it's opened my eyes to a whole new way of making money.. building mini sites for direct sale in auctions. I've found that a number of people, with varying degrees of skill, are purpose building quick mini sites to sell them off on Ebay. The best of them are excellent and tempting. Other are poor. But even many of the poor ones sell. One thing they nearly all have in common is that they're built to promote affiliate programs, usually something like vstore, or a range of themed Commission Junction affiliate programs. In fact I nearly bought one of these sites for my daughter Kate (even though it can't have taken more than an hour or so to put together, the price was so low that I went back to the site 4 times before deciding against it) The site was called Doggy Delight and linked to a number of affiliate programs run through Commission Junction. It's a doddle to put this kind of site together. You could easily build a couple in a day, following the step-by-step directions in Mini Site Profits then either promote them or sell them off as a going concern. But back to Doggy Delight. What stopped me buying it was a quick visit to my favorite keyword tool Word Tracker where I found that nearly all the searches for doggy were looking for the kind of site I'd rather not mention in this newsletter. Sites at the top of the chain, though not necessarily in price, are ready to go pay-per-click websites. There's a thriving trade in them. Look at this one, Searchpond with just 8 hours to go it could have been yours for $100 (see here) I'm not sure what it finally went for...but it was just one of half a dozen search engines for sale this week. Vehiclevender is a quality site being offered for $399. It's a turnkey car business site that's been built especially to sell on Ebay. With some promotion you could probably do very well with it. If the site doesn't make money as it is, then there are plenty of car type affiliate programs to promote. It lists the current time in major cities around the world.   News Is Free This site collects headlines from 2412 sources (/sources/bycat/) around the web and lets you manage them in new ways. You can: · Browse (/sources/browse/) the latest headlines, from thousands of sources in many different languages. · Search (/sources/searchitems/) for the latest news. · Create custom pages with your own choice of news sources, arrange them in boxes or scroll lists. · Send headlines to your friends and colleagues by mail. · Post headlines to your weblog or read them in your news reader (/newsreaders.php).
