Letter
from Phil...
I've got to confess I'm a big Joe Vitale fan. His book Cyberwriting
really helped get me going in 1997. Now he's just released a great
new book called Hypnotic Marketing which is about a way of creating
web sites, and emails that ....well I guess the word to use is "hypnotize"
people into following your sales message and buying from you.
Just reading through the
table of contents
halfway down the page hypnotized me into buying the book. Being a
big Joe fan I didn't even read the full page before clicking on the
order link.
Anyhow, lots for you in
today's longer than usual newsletter, including a list of my favorite
marketing books, and how I'm revamping my web site to pull more search
engine traffic.

ps.
if you enjoy reading my newsletter your friends probably will.So will
you do me a favor please and tell them about it by sending them to

...thanks.
Spider
food...
Neil Shearing ran a great
story in his newsletter last week about how a "super affiliate"
who promoted his Internet
Success Spider made him $3000 in 48 hours
It really shows the power
of getting super affiliates to promote your products, so I asked Neil
if I could reprint it here.
Have a good read:

Super Affiliate Super Sales Shocker!
Way back in June of last year, not long after I released Internet
Success Spider I had a customer email this to me...
"I just wanted to
write and tell you how pleased I am with your program. It was definitely
worth the nominal investment!! I probably wouldn't have paid a $1000
to buy it, but it is definitely worth that and more. The
Super Affiliates should bring my company millions of dollars in long-term
sales!"
OK, so he was happy.
Great :-)
...but I thought no more
about it...
...until the same guy emailed
me earlier this week saying, "Get ready. I'm emailing my database
of 16,000 affiliates about the Spider".
Yikes!
Here's part of the email
he was sent out...I've cut the Spider introduction...
===========================
Does this really work?
In a word, YES!
I invite you to visit our
office in Fairfax, Virginia where I can show you proof.
As a test, our Chief Operations
Officer used Neil's system without telling him who he was or why we
were testing.
Our executive spent just
a few hours using Neil's engine over two days. In just those couple
of hours Neil's engine found us several power affiliates who are now
generating sales for us. We ran this test as a regular "affiliate,"
just like you. And our "test affiliate" has already earned
close to $1,000 in subaffiliate commissions! Imagine if you spent
two hours per week, or two hours per day using Neil's engine!
There is no doubt in my
mind that those who rush to use Neil's engine first can easily generate
up to $10,000 per month in subaffiliate commissions very easily.
We've tested Neil's product
and we can tell you that it works. It also has the "scamfreezone"
seal of approval.
This is the holy grail.
If you are serious about earning a full time living on the Internet
(like I do);
Neil's engine can get you
there F-A-S-T !
Check
it out!
The upshot?
Over three thousand dollars
in sales in the 48 hours after the email was sent!
It just goes to show the
power of finding super affiliates... this guy is certainly one of
mine, and he's proved that you can make small fortunes if you have
a good product and can find some great super affiliates.
Hint...
the Spider may help you find those super affiliates ;-)
Books
I value more than any others...
The other day someone asked
me which internet marketing books I
value above all overs. He want a Top 10 list, but that seemed too
many
for me, so I'm giving you a Top 6.
I've got lots of great
books, but I had a quick think and then in the end
narrowed it down to the one's I keep going back to when I'm stuck
on a
problem or need some fast inspiration.
Here they are (and I'm
not conceited enough to include my own Mini
Site
Profits on the list)
1. Marlon Sanders Gimme
My Money Now
It's a book that's particularly
good at helping you get your own info product out on the streets as
quickly as possible. I know that many top marketers use this book
when they're putting their own info products together. It's packed
with practical exactly-how-to-do-it advice, and really helps you shift
up a gear or two.
2. Ken
Evoy's Getting Started Action Guide.
Although I'm a fan of Ken's
massive MYSS 2002 I find a couple of other books of his even more
useful. And they're both free. One is the Getting Started Action Guide
which you'll find at the bottom of http://salesnow.sitesell.com/freetrial/
the other is the Site Build
it Free Preselling book which you'll find high up the same page. Of
course you really should read MYSS as well.
http://salesnow.sitesell.com
3. Jeff Gardener's
"The Ultimate Million-Dollar Idea Generator"
Jeff's Idea Generator book
is one of my most used business tools. Whenever I'm short of ideas
for this newsletter, or for the books I'm currently working on, I
grab hold of Jeff's ebook ( I print all my ebooks out and have them
bound) and my head quickly fills up with new ideas and ways of doing
things. Invaluable.
4. Lazyman
I know this one is only
new but being one of the world's laziest, laid back, people I really
need kicking along to get things organized and get anything done.
In a few short weeks I've delved into this book dozens of times and
my home office is now so cleaned up and organized that I'm working
much more efficiently. Not that's it's about cleaning up your workspace.
It's more about cleaning up your online business and making it work
better.
5. Neil
Shearing's Yahoo Exposed.
Getting your web site listed
in a good position on Yahoo is one of the smartest traffic driving
moves you'll ever make.
But until Neil's book came
along it wasn't easy. This is a low-cost follow-the-steps blueprint
to being listed in Yahoo. If you're working on a site and want to
drive plenty of visitors to it you need to read Neil's book before
you get much further along with your site. You might be making mistakes
that will stop you getting listed.
6. The Dropship Source
Directory.
Because I'm always looking
for new products to sell on my mini sites, I'm finding this book pretty
valuable. The beauty of it is that there are thousands of products
listed in it that are not currently being sold on the net. Find a
winner among them (and the book is constantly being updated with new
listings) and you could well make a fortune. It's not just a list
of products though. It's packed with information on this method of
doing business and shows you how to automate it all.
Ok, that's it I reckon.
I could list many more books, but I'm just reporting on the one's
that I find of most value to ME. I've reviewed lots of other books
that could well be especially useful to you but they don't fit into
my personal must have Top 6 books.
One book you'll find very
useful if you're struggling to make money promoting affiliate programs
is Shane Pearce's book Super
Affiiate
Marketing Exposed. it's full of useful affiliate boosting info.
He covers a ton of practical techniques, with twists that really work.
Shane's an 18 year old
Aussie, is making a full time living promoting affiliate programs
with mini sites, after starting out with my
book
Great
Seminar you'll be interested In...
Want to go to a great seminar?
My friend Michael Penland
is running the The
Internet Marketing and Mail Order Super Conference, April 19,
20, 21 in Atlanta, Georgia.
When you see the list of
speakers you'll know why it's being billed a "super conference".
The theme is "How To Turn Your Small Business Into An Instant
Cash Flow Money Machine!" and if anyone can do it these guys
can.

Sounds great, I wish I
could go myself, but living in Australia I miss out on most events
like this.
Taking
Steps to Improve your Search Engine Ranking...
Earlier this week I used
Mark Joyner's Web
Site Lifeline to check the links in my http://www.ozemedia.com
site. With 116 broken links I was
shocked at the results.
I know why there are so
many. It's because I started a big revamp of the site a year ago and
never completed it.
Ozemedia.com is a big content
site, with hundreds of pages, but it's not really profitable...and
I found my time was better spent building fast mini sites which pull
good sales. ( learn about building profitable mini sites with my book
Mini Site Profits )
Not all the broken links
are internal ones. Heaps of them are where I've linked to forums or
ezines that no longer exist.
Anyhow after finding so
many broken links I decided to take action.
So this week I've been
working on a slimmed down version of the site which - I hope - is
going to be more efficient, look better, help you more, and importantly
rank well in search engines.
Not that ozemedia.com does
too bad in search engines. When I checked yesterday it was in 11th
spot on Alta Vista for the popular search term internet marketing.
Three months ago it wasn't
in the top 50, and that's what this little story is really about...how
I easily jumped it from nowhere to 11th spot.
I know some people knock
Alta Vista, but I get tons of visitors from this search engine, especially
after paying to join their Spider Inclusion program a few months ago.
sidebar___________
here's a guaranteed way
to get to the top of any search engine.
Step 1. Make up a very
obscure search term and optimize your page for it. For example "blind
elephant eats Allan Gardyne"
Step 2. Submit it to every
search engine.
Step 3. Whenever anyone
searches for "blind elephant eats Allan Gardyne" you'll
come up in number 1 spot.
In fact you'll probably
be the only page that comes up, and you'll never get any traffic from
it, but at least you can boast you've got top
spot in Google.
end sidebar___________
ok, all I did was make sure that the term "internet marketing"
was the most used phrase on the index page of my site.
In the meta tags the title
starts with it, and so do the keywords.
Keywords:
<meta name="keywords"
content="internet marketing tips, affiliate program success,
business tactics and ideas, mini site marketing, home business success,
internet marketing techniques, web writing">
Title:
<title>internet marketing
tips and advanced techniques. Learn how to make your site sell with
Phil Wiley's marketing letter.</title>
The headline at the top
of the page repeats the term:
"Internet marketing
expert Phil Wiley helps you start and grow your online home business"
The search term is mentioned
twice more in the body copy, and then importantly it's repeated again
at the bottom of the page. Don't ask me why it's important to repeat
it at the bottom of the page but it is.
Actually I think it's something
to do with the search engine robots checking the relevancy of your
site, and "reading" the bottom of your page to make sure
the same theme carries through to the end.
Here's afree
online tool for checking your keyword density
If you have broken links
on your site some search engines - if not all - will penalize your
site and rank it lower, or even not list it.
I'll let you know how the
revamp goes.
Ok, that's it for this
week. Thanks for reading....Phil
